ONE AFTERNOON MONOPRINTING
This workshop is suitable for all levels. It may be of particular interest to illustrators and painters who want to express themselves directly onto the screen, with instant, spontaneous mark making without the need for separate layers and stencils. The word mono refers to the print being a ‘one off’ and unrepeatable unlike the other types of screen print. It is a unique process, no stencil is required, so we won't be working with the UV exposure unit. Paint is applied directly onto the screen and then pulled through with a medium and a squeegee onto the paper. The result is really beautiful as it picks up on the texture and expression of the brush strokes but reproduces this in a totally smooth and flat way which you could never achieve by painting directly onto paper. It is also possible to block out parts of the screen and bring in a stencil element if you wish! You will take away several pieces of work, the number depending on the pace at which you work.
Limited to 5 participants
Cost: 55 Euros (including VAT) All materials included.
Time: 2pm - 5pm
Date: Saturday 30th November
Cancellation policy:
KPS cannot offer a refund because the groups are small, but if you cancel 7 days before the workshop you can transfer to another workshop at another date (you must do this within 6 months otherwise your transfer is invalid). If you cancel within the 7 days you cannot transfer to another workshop unless you find a replacement for yourself to attend.
